Nadia and Carol

Nadia Comaneci, (born November 12th, 1960 Gheorghe Gheorghiu-Dej [now OnestiGheorghe Gheorghiu-Dej [now Onesti Romania) Romanian gymnast who was the first gymnast to get a flawless score of 10 during the Olympic event. Comaneci was discovered by Bela Karolyi, later to be the Romanian gymnastics instructor when she was just six years old. In 1969 she was a participant at the Romanian Junior Olympics and finished 13th. In 1970, she won the title. Her first competition in the international arena was in 1972, which was a pre Olympic junior meeting for communist countries she won three gold medals and in 1973 and 1974 she was all-around junior champion. She defeated the Russian Lyudmila Torishcheva who was the five-time European champion, at her first senior international competition held in the year 1975. In this event she was awarded four golds and one silver. In 1976, she took home the American Cup at the New York City Olympic Games and became the first woman ever to remove the parallel bars and to use an inverse salto that doubled backward. Carol Wayne.........................Carol Wayne was an American film and TV actor best recognized for portraying Art Fern's Tea-Time Movie Lady on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. As a teenager she began appearing in travel shows like Ice Capades as a skater along with her younger sibling Nina Wayne. Carol Marie Wayne is a United States citizen, born on the 6th of September 1942 in Chicago Illinois. Carol first began her acting career when she was in her teens. She began her career as figure skater, performing alongside her sibling Nina Wayne as part of the show that was a traveling spectacle known as Ice Capades. They had ice-skating performances that included staged performances.
