Laura Linney was one of the best American actors to emerge from the past. Her powerful and vulnerable performances have earned her a cult name. She was raised by a single, unmarried mother who worked as a nursing assistant. She became interested in the theatre during holidays by her famous father. She was a student of acting through Brown University, and later in Juilliard School. Following her graduation she started her Broadway career. Two years later, she was on television. Since then she's been in many films, television productions and stage plays. Over the course of her career, she won numerous awards including two Golden Globe Awards. But despite the many accolades, her love for theatre remains, and she continues to perform both as a stage performer and screen.
